The purpose of Cowee Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Inc. is to provide fire protection, rescue services, and Basic Life Support to all persons and their property within the Cowee and Oak Grove Communities and to provide mutual aid as determined necessary by the Chief's Office or as requested by the Office of Emergency Services of Macon County.

Cowee Volunteer Fire/Rescue, Inc. proudly serves the Cowee and Oak Grove Communities of Franklin, North Carolina since 1991. The department covers approximately 95 square miles with a full-time population of 3,500 people. This fire department has formed a strong brotherhood and takes great pride in not only protecting the citizens of Cowee and Oak Grove Communities but we're also honored to assist in mutual-aid services throughout Macon County and surrounding counties.
